Dubai: An estimated 12,000 people turned up for the Dubai Walks held under the auspices of the Dubai Sports Council-organised Dubai Pulse Programme around Burj Khalifa yesterday.

“We are pleased with the response from Dubai residents. We are hoping there will be a growing interest in such activities in the future as well,” noted Nasser Al Rahma, who is in charge of the annual Dubai Pulse Programme.

“We are always seeking ways and means to popularise programmes backed by the Dubai Sports Council, and this particular programme is an attempt to make Dubai residents revert to a healthy lifestyle,” Al Rahma added.

“Dubai Walks began with residents assembling near Burj Khalifa before embarking on a designated route around the world’s tallest building. Besides the walk, people enjoyed being around such a world landmark and they were keen to record these moments by taking photographs,” the DSC official added.
