DUBAI: The Ara Gallery and At the Top, Burj Khalifa have announced “Art At the Top,” a competition giving one artist the chance to have his or her artwork displayed on a featured wall in At the Top, Burj Khalifa.

The competition began on Monday with a call to Emirati artists around the UAE to submit their portfolios. The deadline for portfolio submission is on July 15.

The competition’s theme “What does Burj Khalifa mean to you?” will see art created that depicts the artist’s personal reflection and inspiration from the UAE’s landmark tower, Burj Khalifa.

Once the portfolio submission deadline has passed, The Ara Gallery and At the Top, Burj Khalifa will review the portfolios submitted. Five finalists, who will be chosen from the interested artists based on their portfolio, will be announced on July 19. Each of the five finalists will then create an original artwork inspired by the competition’s theme.

From the five finalists’ artworks, only one artist and artwork will be chosen to be displayed on a featured wall within At the Top, Burj Khalifa. The five finalists will then have time until Sept. 6 to create their artwork.

The competition winner will then be announced on Sept.17. More info

The “Art At the Top” competition is open to UAE nationals only and portfolios are to be kept under 5MB in size and may be sent to artatthetop@thearagallery.ae.
