“Due to unexpected high traffic, the observation deck experience at the Burj Khalifa, At The Top, has been temporarily closed for maintenance and upgrade. Technical issues with the power supply are being worked on by the main and sub-contractors and the public will be informed upon completion,” a Burj Khalifa spokesperson said in a statement.

“Guests who hold valid tickets to the experience will be offered the option to re-book or receive an immediate refund. All ticket holders who wish to re-book shall be given top priority,” the spokesperson added.

It was not clear when the observation deck would reopen for the visitors. Burj Khalifa’s website indicated that at least 15,000 tickets have been sold out till next Sunday.

Those who have booked their tickets have been advised to visit the At The Top ticket counter at the lower ground of The Dubai Mall for a refund, which on Sunday placed a notice announcing the disruption in service.
