Open from 8am, Social House at The Dubai Mall is Dubai Chronicle’s choice for a breakfast venue in Downtown Dubai. The eatery features a global menu from East to West and invites people from all walks of life to eat, drink and socialize. The café feels more like home in parts, thanks to comfy seating’s, packed bookshelves and even a VIP room with model kitchen from Miele.

Breakfast menu include doughnuts, croquet madame, bagels, omelets, waffles and healthy fruit platters. There is also a large outdoor terrace with great views, that is open all day.

More Café is a favorite with Dubai residents. With an incredible diverse menu, breakfast is also a all-inclusive affair, from a full American-style cooked meal to lighter, healthier options like Eggs Benedict. The portions are usually bigger than the expectations. Service is always friendly and the food is fresh and of consistently high quality. If only glass cups could be replaced with classic porcelain coffee cups with saucers, the experience could be really memorable. While the signature floating table inside may catch the eye of newcomers, the terrace offers great views across to Souq Al Bahar, Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa. The café opens at 8am.

Another Dubai favourite, Shakespeare & Co has outlets across the city and two in the Downtown Dubai area – one in The Dubai Mall and one in Souk Al Bahar. With vintage-style furniture and old charm, the café is an attractive and interesting space for planning the day ahead. Breakfast is one of the best options on the menu, with set meals, including American, English, Lebanese and Healthy. The Dubai Mall outlet opens at 9am, while early birds looking for a leisurely breakfast can head across the bridge to Souq Al Bahar from 7am.
