This Valentine’s Day head to The Palace – The Old Town to celebrate a romantic evening like never before. Emirates is now offering exclusive deals, including free nights at select hotels for First Class and Business Class customers flying between now and June 30, via its U.S. gateways in Los Angeles (LAX) and Houston (IAH). Emirates will award First Class travelers a two-night stay at either the Armani Hotel, in Burj Khalifa, or the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, on Palm Island. Business Class travelers will receive a one-night stay at either The Address Dubai Marina or the Jumeirah Emirates Towers.
How the Burj Khalifa, among the world’s most luxurious properties, can be considered distressed helps to illustrate the extent of the downturn in Dubai’s real estate market in recent years. Two years ago, the tower held a glitzy, fireworks-themed grand opening that attracted worldwide news coverage. But by October 2010 apartment prices at the Burj Khalifa had dropped 40 percent and they have yet to recover.
Meanwhile the Chinese are being drawn in greater numbers, particularly to new showcase hotels like the Armani in the Burj Khalifa. The first Armani hotel in the world also played host to the World Travel Awards 2011 Middle East Ceremony in May.
The 160-room hotel, which opened in April in the designated Downtown Dubai district, is the first Armani property (others are in the pipeline; one in Milan is scheduled to open next) and occupies floors ground to eight and levels 38 and 39 of the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa.
First class passengers receive a complimentary two-night stay, including breakfast, at either The Armani Hotel, located in the Burj Khalifa, or the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, located on the Palm Jumeirah Island. Business class passengers obtain a one-night stay with breakfast at either The Address Dubai Marina or the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel.
